The Biography

From early performance days treading the boards with the Welsh National Opera company dressed as a woodland creature, to the present day, for Plainyboy –  music has always been the answer.

Plainyboy started his DJ career in Cardiff as resident in The Kings Cross and playing at many a private party and function.  Upon moving to London residencies at Bar Aquda Covent Garden, and Bar Fusion followed, as well as gigs and guest appearances at The George and Dragon in Shoreditch, and Gay Speed Bingo with Jonny Woo.

Relocating to Brighton in 2004, Plainyboy has since found his musical home and has been fortunate to play at some of Brighton’s best loved club nights including The Pink Pony Club, Sunday Sundae (Audio Brighton), Trudi Styles Presents, The Hanbury Ballroom, Brighton Pride  – The Bears Tent, as well as establishing himself as an in-demand events DJ.  Plainyboy has also produced mixes to be used as part of the Brighton Pride Street Party hosted by Brighton Juice 107, and has planned and put together radio shows for Radio Reverb.

2009-10 has seen Plainyboy branch out into the production arena – watch this space for information about forthcoming productions and remixes.

Difficult to musically pigeon hole, influences come from early electronica, pop, disco, acid house, ambient, punk, AOR – you name it! From silky sunset vocal house sets at Sunday Sundae (Audio Brighton), disco filth at Dirty Sunset Disco (OHSO Brighton),  to high energy infused disco sets at The Hanbury Ballroom Brighton – that’s just the way it rolls!
